Is there such a thing?

It would hopefully eliminate the need to 'tune' each spoke and try and get the wheel true. I've been trying to do my rear wheel after replacing a spoke and now i'm seeing the red mist and i have an oval-ish wheel thats spinning all over the bl**dy place.

    spoke tension meter.

but if you have not built a wheel before then yes things go wrong.

have a read of sheldons how too.

If I were to buy a spoke tension meter, is it a given that if all spokes on a wheel are the same tension then the wheel will be as true as possible?

Or do spokes still need to be all different tensions for a wheel to spin perfectly?
