The compression dial (blue on right leg) feels like it ison a 'spring' i.e., with my Fox forx, the lock out turns and 'stays' either locked out or not.

When I turn the blue dial, it doesnt stay, always springs back and you can feel that there is some kind of return mechanism.

Obv when the poploc is activated this doesnt matter.

My question is, if you buy as set of Pike 426's AND Poploc, are they different to Pike 426's without? Or am I miossing something?

Cheers :?

Yep, they are different! Poploc Adjust allows you to set it anywhere you like. The basic poploc is on/off. Non poploc forks do not have this spring mehcanism.

and if you want to set the compresion damping you need the adjustable pop lock.

  • Great - as long as I havent got a duff set. They are great forks, I can see why people like them so much. To be honest I prefer them to my Fox!!!!

And the Poploc is great - thought it was a waste of money at first but it really is a great little feature when faced with sudden undulation of terrain!!!

if you get the adjustable pop lock. the pop lock is the lever not the fork and is used with the sprung blue top rather than the manually adjustable friction blue top.

Yep, that's the one. I wasnt aware of that and thought my forks were faulty - I havent fully read the manual yet but am getting there (theres an awful lot to read through!!)

PS: slightly off topic but the 185mm Codes are awesome!! Really good stoppers, but my bike (as you will see when I post the pics) is super burly and compliments them!

PPS: Maxle was a doddle to fix - just added some red teflon grease and in she went - a great invention!!!

    :D
