Shimano and Campagnolo BB thread the same?

I always thought they are but am having trouble putting a new Campagnolo BB into a shell that was previously occupied by a Shimano BB. After about a turn or so, the thread becomes very tight.

Is there a countermeasure that doesn't involve a trip to the LBS?

(I have got the right type of BB threading by the way - English to replace English!).

if they were both english then they should be the same.

BUT i have found some shimao bb cups that have had an undersise diameter but still cottect thread. and when new bb cups have been fitted they have been tight.

best solution is a thread chase at the LBS.

Taking the back wheel out can make things easier when fitting BB's.
