i just cant get my back wheel of the ground no matter how hard i try0
-
Try and lift it by itself independant of the front. Weight forward, point the pedals down and try and lift the wheel. Once you get a feel for it, try the front.0

heya thnks i think i may hav done it a few times
and how do you know when to blled hydraulic disk brakes0 -
When the lever feel changes, ie goes spongey. Which brakes? Hayes Sole require a different method of maintenance.0
-
theyre quad QHD-1 but sometimes wen i ride on 5th gear it starts clicking and what is a lever feel?
TYVM for your help0 -
A lot of this will be covered in your instructions or general hydro brake guides, so i wont go into too much detail. You need to work out wheter your brakes are dual piston or single piston - ie how many pads move. Some have a static pad that needs to be manually adjusted over time like the Hayes Sole and maybe the QHD1. You want a crisp progressive lever feel - if its spongey there may be air in the lines.
As for the gears, they need tuning, have a read of Park tools for a good guide.0 -
this is really confising though
but thank you very much for your help0 -
You just need to doa little background reading, and preferably get someone to show you the basics. A good maintenance book will be a great investment, such as Leonard Zinn.0

ill look for tht on ebay haha0

Nice one, you wont regret it, will save you a lot of money and the bike will last longer.0

Hi
I have a claud butler cape wrath with QHD 1's. they are pretty good brakes. They are dual piston, and therefore don't need to be manually adjusted, which is a bonus, and my advice would be do not bleed them unless absolutely necessary. They can be a pig to get backto where you want them in terms of feel and bite etc. That could be just me though.
Cheers

MOUNTAIN BIKING- The pastime of spending large sums of money you don't really have on something you don't really need.0 -
Hopping on SPDs generally teaches the wrong techniqque and weight shifts.0
-
i dont want to do clipless as that snt really learning at all i jus struggle to get back tire off the ground0
-
First bunny hop seems impossible and after that it just clicks. The way I got it is to point your feet at the ground and push back on the pedals then try and jump straight up and the bike will follow.0
-
so push your body forward n legs back on the pedals0
-
Yep even I can 2-3 inches off the ground! Within just 3 days of starting during my lunch break .
Is it possible to Bunny hop the right way using SPD's I'm just about to purchase some... Just use the same technique as before?Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite 2010
