Having a read about the Euro Bike Fest, interesting and fun stuff, but why OH WHY? a banner ad for a Citroen 4x4 ?

and I find my 4x4 truck comes in rather handy for lugging three bikes and child seat somewhere nice to ride.

Sooo much easier to roll up somewhere open the back of the discovery and ride straight off - no fussy roof/rear carriers to make safe etc!

If I had enough money I would buy my own rather than borrowing it (and leaving it muddy) :oops:

The advertisers like to use a 'forum'which matches their target customer ie out door sorts for a 4x4!

Actually, since we've already drifted pleasantly away from original gripe, I've never understood why so many mountain bikers buy 4WDs when a decent estate car does the job better. With the back seats folded, you can throw a couple of complete bikes into the back of an estate car; that's not possible in a lot of 4WDs.

Someone once asked me why I wasn't taking the wheels off my bike to put it in the car. "Because i don't have to."

I have an old Subaru estate, which has the added advantage of switchable 4WD for dirt roads.

i downlaoded the avant browser and it seems to have got rid/blocked all the ads, including the very annoying one that dominated the right hand side of the page.
