Rim widths; what effect

Will a wider rim width help stabilise a wider tyre? Is there going to be a noticable difference between a 23mm 717 rim and a 26mm Crossride when using a 2.3" Conti Vertical in making tyre less squirmy on hardpack / cornering (running at 35 psi)?
thanks

width effects the profile. wider rims on the same tyre can make the tyre squarer which can reduce the cornering grip. re your tyre sorry not used it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I find I get less pinch punctures running wider rims.
(All other things - tyres, tubes and pressures being equal).0 -
I use verts on 317 rims. Note you are quoting external widths, not internal. Verts are small for 2.3 I find they work fine.0
