Possible venture into 'Full Suspension' territory!

A mate of mine is talking of buying a new bike (currently owns a 'hardtail') and is considering going full suspension. I think he's looking to pay approx. £1000 max. and has considered the following possibilities so far...

Kona Dawg Deluxe (06)
GT I-Drive 5.2.0 (06)
Iron Horse Warrior 6.0 (07)
Kona Coiler (06)

He basically wants an 'all-mountain' bike but does not want to pay more than £1000 (he is aware that you get what you pay for). Being a 'hardtail' rider, I've not had any experience of any of the above...has anyone else? Or, does anybody have any other 'sub £1000' suggestions?

Out of the list I'd go for the GT, or have a look at a Giant Trance.

Both are superb AM /XC bikes.

I've already mentioned to him that I saw a 'Giant Trance 3 (2005/2006)' for £699.95.
