Harrogate, or should i say, BORINGgate...

I live in Harrogate, and i really like biking!
Luckily Stainburn is only 10 minutes drive away so when my Dad is home he can take me and my mate up there. The problem is, he is always away on business so i rarely get to go. I have explored parts of Harrogate, including Nidd Gorge, which is pretty good, and also Hookstone Woods, and the Pine Woods near Valley Gardens. There are some good places to go, but they get a tad boring after a while...
Does anyone know of any other places to go?
There are a loads of in and around Harrogate, it would be really good to have a section of woods, for biking, with trails and jumps, North Shore(even though i'm not great) and downhill runs! I would love to be able to just hop on my bike and go out for the evening biking, and not having to rely on cars and weekends to do something.
This summer holiday hasn't been the greatest for biking, with the weather and poo, so i havent been able to do much, but if there was somehwere decent nearby, it would be a "DREAM COME TRUE?" :?:
