Kinesis Racelight Tk - is it any good for building up a light winter bike that could double for the odd road race or two in the Summer? Anyone ridden one and got a view they might share please?

I haven't any direct experience sorry but the original Racelight T sold pretty well for a winter 'trainiing' frame, and the TK looks very nice I think.
  • I have a pair of the forks and they are a quality piece of kit. Plenty of mudguard clearence too.

I've been riding one since last Easter, mainly for commuting, but have also done a couple of century rides on it. Kinesis headset and full carbon forks; predominantly Ultegra g/set. 105 factory wheels (R550s). Commute is a bit over 16 miles each way, have ridden it summer and winter, with and without lights and mudguards.

I'm pleased with it. Relatively light (bearing in mind lights and mudguards...), stiff frame, have found it quite comfortable, a good all-rounder. Clearance for 23 and 25 mm tyres. I wanted a winter "race" bike; i.e. one that felt like a race bike with mudguards on. It hasn't held me back! Can comfortably average >20 mph, and (if I were sad enough to note such things) I have recorded my fastest commutes on it (anything less than 45 minutes). Was surprised by the frame size, though. I wanted a 54cm equivalent top tube, which was the smallest size. The dimensions on the Kinesis website were accurate - I was just a bit surprised to be taking the smallest frame they made, as I'm average-ish height (5' 9")

Lots of pluses - one minus is the eyelet on the right rear drop out looks too close to the edge (doesn't need to be as close as it is).
