The QR Skewer in my Rear hope hub has seized, Not sure how long it's been like this as I rarely remove my rear wheel.

I have tried gentle 'persuasion' with a hammer and it does move but not enough to remove it. The gentle persuasion did lead to the cassette parting company with the hub with the lock ring still in place(!?) . Fixed that and all seems well. But I still can't shift the skewer....any ideas?

i guess steel Qr shft and alloy hub axle have corroded together.

Needs a soak in plus gas.and may be some chemical work.

  • Thanks for the reply - I shall try the chemical warfare option!
