whatever the insurance company says in the small print."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I use the one that came free with MBUK the other month... it's great! :P
nah, but seriously, I keep mine in the house... under the stairs, so I guess it's the front door that's my lock, 2 5 latch mortices and 1Yale.get on your bikes and ride!0 -
I keep by bike inside when i am at home.
As i use it for the commute to work i have an ASUS lock and locking skewers through the axles and seat fastener. They are a pain in the ass on the trail but at least no chavs will be nicking my stuff, and if they do its covered by the insurance.Giant TCR advanced 2 (Summer/race)
Merlin single malt fixie (Commuter/winter/training)
Trek superfly 7 (Summer XC)
Giant Yukon singlespeed conversion (winter MTB/Ice/snow)

if i lock my bike up in the shed i have an anchor on the floor and just a £10 chain i put round the frame and lock at the anchor, but mostly i have my bike in the house to avoid getting scratches on it0

I have a Kryptonite stronghold bike anchor in my garage floor + the 1m Kryptonite New York fahgettaboutit chain, solely as my insurance requires it and it was less hassle than getting new locks for my garage doors. Seem to work fine but nothing a 42-inch bolt cutter couldn't get through in a few seconds0

I've got a kryptonite evolution mini for my road bike and an abus granit steel-o-flex which i put round my MTB's back wheel and frame, but there's nothing in my flat to actually lock it TO, so I'm considering putting a ground anchor in, and getting a beefy chain - that way I won't be constantly worrying 'did I remember to lock the door?', because currently the front door's the only thing stopping somebody nicking off with my bike. Although not knowing a bike's there is the best deterrent... hide it!
To that end i'm also getting my van's back window tinted on thursday...0 -
A Kryptonite Faghetaboiutit New York Chain and a Kryptonite Fahgetaboutit mini U-Lock secure my best two bikes to a solid steel saw bench.
Old trek has its rear wheel locked to itself with a magnum chain lock.
BMX has a cheap mini U-Lock securing it to a Car RampThe first rule of cycling is - Tell everyone how great cycling is.

My bikes are locked together with a kyptonite cable lock thing, plus they live on the 3rd floor of my house, you cant get them out the room without removing the lock!! hahahaha!!0

Mine are locked to a ground anchor in the shed by 2 Almax chains. Then they have a steel o flex through the back wheels, the forks are locked by a bulldog Gold Sold secure chain thats also around one of the shed roof supports.
The shed is padlocked and alarmed.
We have 2 dogs and security lights covering the garden
With 4 good quality bikes in there I dont want them dissapearing easily. Its 2 mins extra work but worth it
Our house insurance covers them by the way with no specific Lock demandsMarin Mount Vision 2005. Fox RL100/RP3. Hope Pro 2/Mavic XC717/DT rev. Cinders 2.1, XTR, Lots of bling
Cervelo S3 2011. Mavic Cosmic Carbonne SLE. RED. Q-rings, lots of bling and very light!0 -
My road bike which I use the most is kept in the house so my front door is the lock. My MTB is stored outside around the back in a covered area. A six foot fence surrounds the garden and the bike is secured using a £10 chain to a very sturdy metal wall anchor. I'm with M&S for my house ins which I'm sure a lot of other guys are too due to their excellent policy on bikes. When I phoned up to double check their policy they even said I would be covered if I momentarily left it unlocked and popped into a shop. I certainly won't be planning on testing this out!0
