Can anyone recommend a good bike repair book?
I am looking at 2 at present but cannot decide which one is best.
They are Zinn's mtb book and the Park Tool BBB.
cheers

So why not buy the Zinn one and use the Park web site? Two for one there! Also, I bought the Zinn one, found it about £5 cheaper on amazon compared to wiggle.

Its a useful book, i'm completely useless with anything technical, and even i understand the step by step instructions. Usually.

I'd rate the Park book as OK, not entirely comprehensive and as it tries to cover Shimano, SRAM and Campag it can skirt over some stuff. I'd say it's more a handy reference rather than a complete step-by-step guide (most of it a total novice would be fine with but some parts can leave you scratching your head wondering what it means). Combined with the instructions you get with new parts though (at least for Shimano) it should be all you need.

Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance is practacaly my bible, I have not read or even seen a copy of the parks one so I'm no help.

I enjoyed reading Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance many years ago. This thread's making me philosophise about reading it again ;)
