I've worn a couple of teeth on my RaceFace Ride XC on my trance. As it needs replacing I'm looking for a slight upgrade but i'm on a bit of a tight budget..... any ideas??

why not just but new rings?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I could do, but - I fancy an excuse for an upgrade and also it has always suffered from chainsuck more than any other set I have owned, so It's time for a change I think.0

A new set of rings should sort out the chain suck issues as well.
If you must get a new one, then go for XT.0 -
This is on an ISIS BB right? I'd gp to CRC and buy an LX octalink crank and BB for 50 quid.0

yeah I think it's an ISIS. I was considering either an XT or LX - the LX is better than the race face then?0

Which LX? Hard to say, everyone has different experiences. But I can say the Octalink stuff is light, stiff, bearings last ages, and chainrings are better than the newer shimano too.0

Haven't Shimano sorted the chainrings for the new 08 XT crankset?
The bearings in my XT set of gone already though. One week of pressure washing at Glentress and they just died. Don't do it people!0 -
As cash has become a little tight, I've decided to replace just the outer ring. I'm considering a Deore LX - any alternatives before I flush the moths out of my wallet?0

If all the dimesnions are the same, its good value. You can get full sets of truvativ rings on ebay for 15 quid.0
