Tyres for on/off road touring

Hi,
I am looking at Continental Travel Contact, as that's what I have on my touring bike, but thought I'd ask for some opinions, as they're free!
They need to be smooth rolling for mainly road work, but with side knobs to handle bridelways, towpaths and the odd totally off-road section.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I got a pair of these to take my hardtail on a 60 mile roadtrip this summer.
Very quiet was the first thing I noticed, then again anything would be in comparison to knobblies, low resistance and raised tread on sides gave me confidence on any loose stuff that I encountered although there wasn`t much of that tbh.
Never got to experience wet conditions thankfully so can`t comment on that.
So all is good and even better if for free IMO.0
