£2300 on a new ride

What do I buy?
I like x/c and d/hill. Had an old m/vision pro so looked at the new m/vision and also the new bionicons.
Please help

You're probably going to have to be slightly more specific than just XC and downhill. Is that downhill racing, is it freeride in the local woods or is it the odd DH track every couple weeks? What kind of XC? Racing, trails, manicured singletrack or the rough boulder paths in the mountains?

£2300 also gets you a lot of bike and its worth test riding before you splash out.

So, more XC or more DH? I'm guessing you're going to want somewhere in the middle with a slant towards XC.

Look at 5-6" full suss bikes. Orange 5/Patriot 66, Santa Cruz Heckler, Cannondale Prophet, Marin TARA range (or whatever the equiv 08 range is called), Commencal Meta 5.5 etc

Ive always fancied the Cove G Spot frame myself and building up from there.

Specialized Enduro or SX Trail as they are both very capable bikes.

the sx trail is slightly more freeridre orientated, so i'd say the enduro

Have a look at the Intense Socom, Cannondale Prophet, Orange 5 etc

spesh enduro 06 mate...great do it all bike...i can keep up with people on the climbs at afan then i can drop faster than most of them on the downs...

pick one up with high spec for about a grand

The Intense Spider FRO looks really nice, does look like abit of a SC Heckler rip off though.
