I sarted off MTBing about 15 years ago on a rigid hawk, 18 gears and it weighed a tonne. It had plastic brakes but it really got me into riding. SOld it about 10 years ago when I got my trek 6500.Sh....itespeed http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1729687/

I adore my GT Avalanche 2.0 - if you can get hold of any of the 2007's I would as apparently the 2008's are slightly lower spec- wish i could have afforded or been able to get the 1.00

Go and try the ones out you have found. Only way to tell if its right for you.0

yeah i will but which one would you say has the best spec...
thanks0 -
The 6500, but thats because it costs more than the others! They are all well specced, with good components for XC and trail, really will come down to what feels best.0

ok thats good because i mainly had my eyes on that one....
