Lots of people (me included) come on here and ask for advice on buying bikes. I find these posts interesting and usually very informative. I wonder if we should have a few "sticky" posts: e.g.

1. Recommended road bikes £300-£500
2. Recommended road bikes £500-£1000
3. Recommended road bikes£1000+

1. Recommended MTB bikes £300-£500
2. Recommended MTB bikes £500-£1000
3. Recommended MTB bikes£1000+

1. Recommended hybrid bikes £300-£500
2. Recommended hybrid bikes £500-£1000
3. Recommended hybrid bikes£1000+

When peole get their bike, they can post reviews of their bike on the relevant sticky?

Good idea, how about these as well.

1 - How to unstick a seat post
2 - Which saddle to buy
3 - Which way to undo a Bottom Bracket and Pedals
    4 - Should i go compact
    5 - How to clean / lube a chain
    6 - Campag or Shimano

    Just a few thoughts.

Completley agree, looking at a lot of posts from begineers including me, alot of newbies and some older in the tooth members will alwas ask the question, which is the best bike, I have a budget of, etc etc I think that having one sticky that is dedicated to the fore mentioned is an excellent idea, as you can go straight to the sticky instead of searching through loads of threads that cover the same thing. (more or less) well thats IMHO. Not that I am an expert but always go for a Giant, not that I am biased :D

How about a sticky for recommended bike shops and online dealers?
Cycling is too nice to waste it on getting to work.

How about just a FAQ thread. People can then search that thread to see if their query and answer is in there somewhere. There are lots of questions that get asked alot but we can't have a sticky for every one. People can maybe copy and paste the question and the most useful replies into the FAQ thread.
