    i want never gets.

of the two i would go for the second as long as the cassette is XT or X-9 (alloy cog carrier) so the cogs dont cut into the alloy body.

re the mavic i just dont like the sloting system on their hubs. seen too many spokes pop out.

there are other options out there.....

    You want Spesh mate,

Specialized Traversee Trail Disc Tubeless - £500 a pair.

Anything not made by Spesh or that Spesh haven't specced on a spesh bike isn't worth jack.

If you ain't got a Spesh bike, don't even bother upgrading it.
  • have you seen my bike - MARIN all the way

Doesn't mean to say I can't have Spesh wheels though
  • and are 'Roval' owned by Spesh?

500 is a big budget for a wheelset and opens up some real exotica - you could do worse than take a look at poshbikes.com and the tune hubs and wheelsets. Someone I know has a set and has nothing but praise for them, and they are lighter than crossmax. XTR hubs another option, the newer M975
  • Thanks for your replies guys - very interesting thoughts from all... (especially all of the Tune stuff on bposhbikes.com - OMG!! - )

I have decided to purchase a new set of XTR M975 wheels - will add a shimano XTR cassette which everyting else is on the bike anyway.....

Being centerlock (and can't be arsed to use adapters if i can get away with it) I was going to put XTR rotors on.

If I put a new set of pads in my juicy carbons and purchase the same size rotor (160mm) do you think this would work...

    Fingers crossed!
