Crankset choice Truvativ stylo or raceface series

Right now I'm in the phase 2 of upgrading my bike (cannondale Prophet 4 ) . Currently I've already upgraded my rear mech (sram x7 to x-9) and chain (kmc gold nitride) , so now I've come to the crankset . I've preordered a truvativ stylo team from evans cycles since my current crank is a isoflow but there are other cranks i'm interested in like the ones offered by raceface and crank borthers .
The only thing that fixes me to truvativ is that it is a enduro optimised crank which my bike is classified as and the others say XC . Is it a good idea to setup a XC crank on a enduro frame ? :?:

don't get caught up in all the madia bull. both cranks will do just fine. i personnally use shimano chainsets. it's the one thing they actually do make at great value. hell we have a 15 stonne mechanic who uses deore lx hollowtech II for his singletrack ripper with no worries.

Check out the Shimano LX and XT octalink deals on CRC too, these are superb cranks.

only thing about shimano is , the compatability with a SRAM based bike . My bike is almost ALL sram in terms of gearage . Would a shimano affect the chain actuation ratio since sram and shimano don't really like mixing their components together?

No problems whatsoever with chainsets, chains and cassettes. Compatibilty probs arise when you try and mix shifters and rear mechs - you just have to be careful. many many people run shimano cranks and SRAM chains.

are you for real? seriously though the only non campatible part is rear mech. thats it.
chains/front mechs/cassettes and chainsets are good to pick and mix

yep. sram rear mechs only work with sram numbered shifters.

sram named rear shifters work with shimano rear mechs.

yep tis fine to mix and match. i prefer the xt cranks on my i-drive to the stylos' on my enduro, but hey ho. also i run a sram chain on my xt cranks with no worries.

Thanks for all the suggestions . After reading a few reviews on the stylo , I've actually started to question the justification of potentially fragile chain rings and easily loosening bolts(not suitable for all mountain xc bike) .
The bike above my Prophet 4 has a FSA alpha which is cheaper . Anyone here have experience on those?

I have a hardtail wich has been using the older splined hollowtech lx cranks for ages..i am 18 stone and i have never experienced any flex or bending ever...i ride agressive XC and really stick it to the bike. Dont be fooled by the bullsh"t.I have an fsa afterburner mega exo on my full susser.the chainrings wore quicker the bottom bracket lasted half as long and the finish was polished off within a month..and they where 3 times the price of the LX.
If i was building a bike on a budget i would stick on a plain Deore or for heavier stuff the Hones or (as i am a bargain hunter) older splined xt cranks that can be found for £35.
The weak point on the newer exterior bearing cranks are the bottom brackets. Make sure your shell is faced and that you dont damage the non- drive side bearing when you tap it in.
Do it gentle with lots of grease (Oooooeeeer).
I still think the older cartridge style bottom brackets are great but thats only an opinion.
    Good luck with your purchase.

I've paid for the cranks now but now this model has shown up

Would this be significantly better than the current mz760 or is this a revamped one with only exterior mods? I can still refund it cause its still at store btw what is the best mounting system to go for ? Isis, External or Octalink?
