There's a reasonable ride that starts just outside Collingham. Turn off for East Keswick has a car park. On opposite side of road there's a bridleway that heads down - clearing it is a challenge because it's been washed away in all the rain this summer. It loops around nicely but the final section is tarmac. It's not long or all that challenging but it makes a nice training run.

The woods around Meanwood are a real blast - some stiff climbs with rocks and roots and some fast descents with rocky drop offs. There's a big bombhole as well that's worth a play. be careful though only some of it is bridleway but the locals are pretty good so long as you slow down for their dogs. Try and clear the descent down the stairs on 'The Hollies' side. On the ring road it's the turn off before the donkey sanctuary (can't remember its name)

Harewood House has some good training rides.Enjoy 8)
I hate it when people say David Beckham's stupid...its not like anyone ever says: 'Stephen Hawking - he's s**t at football.' Paul Calf
