Turbo trainer - what to wear

Just got myself a turbo trainer for the winter - do you wear cycling jersey and bibshorts or just a T-shirt and padded shorts?

Assos would be best. At the risk of generating a helmet debate, you'd probably be fine in a cap.0

Depending on how big your room is/how well ventilated it is - you may end up just in the bibs. Can get pretty toastie on the turbo - especially in the middle of winter when the central heating's on!!0

Something that's OK to sweat in. I even sometimes put a towel on my handlebars and top tube.
But actually, I find summer cycle gear is best as it wicks and you stay cool. A t-shirt can end up around your ankles.Commute - MASI Souville3 | Road/CX - MASI Speciale CX | Family - 80s ugly | Utility - Cargobike0 -

get yourself some well padded speedos from a tri shop.
note to the ladies: the heat i generate verges on obscenity.
only kidding. bib shorts alone after the first 10mins are usually fine for me. just make sure you have a towel to hand and something on the floor or a bike mounted thingy to collect the gallons of sweat.Only the meek get pinched. The bold survive.0 -
Padded shorts, your cycling shoes and as for the rest - anything goes!
What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!0 -
As little as possible.
So, padded undies or padded shorts, socks and shoes only.0 -

Padded shorts, towel over the top tube (to catch sweat and dab yourself), full zip jersey, (shut for 3 mins, open for 3 mins, off for rest - trust me) and a BIG fan in front.I must say goodbye to the blindfold

and a BIG fan in front.
Is this a big enough fan?
 :P0 -

Is this a joke?! Well, I guess Assos may be best but I don't think you necessarily need a top of the range pair of shorts for a turbo session.
I wear my cheapest lidl shorts (never to see the outside world) with a t shirt which gets ditched after ten minutes. I also wear a 118 style headband to keep the sweat dribbling down my face too much. I go for the towel on my toptube to keep the drips off and also for the occasional wipe of the back which gets covered in sweat. Have fun!0 -
Top hat and tails. Spats. Overcoat. Monocle. Cane. And of course white gloves. Or are you just a shabby, shabby person?0

Thank goodness others find the turbo hot and sweaty, I wear my shorts and a bra, and that's it as I get soooo hot. I seriously thought I was just really carp on the turbo.0

I usually just wear old shorts and my shoes, I dofeel cool in my Spongebob jersey, but not for very long!
My dog has learned if she stands in front of the fan, it doesn't take long before I will quit ignoring her and let her out.
It\'s not how many miles you put in, but what you put into the miles that counts0 -
Sounds like the ideal opportunity to ride......neckidI have only two things to say to that; Bo***cks0
