    Had a feeling someone would mention the colour, and I'm assuming your 'not for long' is based on shoe rub removing the grey - if so then this is something I've never had any issue with, road or mtb :D

    I have a big shiny spot on my black FSA cranks from rubbing and no sign of the writing on my silver LX cranks on the mtb from rubbing, though they do look nice, hardly the SRAM carbon cranks though.... lovely stuff.
