Hi guys,
I was currently looking at the claud butler cape wrath D-27 and wondered what you think of it and also wondered if claud butler was a better make than GT

Check the What Bike thread for more options. Both are good bikes with good parts, and did well in tests. You need to try them too.

I bought a D27 last weekend after looking around for a bike in the £500 bracket.

Solid bike through what I have ridden over so far. Couple of little niggles and they are that the Tioga seat has a protective plastic plate at the rear, which 2 of the 3 screws holding it on have already fell out for no reason, the other is the pedals supplied as standard have very little grip on them regardless of side used. The pedals are being replaced ASAP but with what I don't know yet.

Standard pedals can always be a bit of a bug bear. I'd have a look at Wellgo V8 copies for about 14 quid (the onews with replaceable studs) or the Wellgo MG1
