Sanding down brake pads.

I recently managed to get WD-40 on my rear disk brake and now it's about as useful as a chocolate teaspoon. I read on another thread that you can soak the pads in alcohol and sand the surface down to restore them; i'd rather not replace them as they're pretty much brand new. Has anyone tried sanding pads down before and what grade paper should I use?

It hardly ever works, and once contaminated they usually stay that way I am afraid.0

My pads on my dearly departed 'Dmr Switchback' disintegrated when going down a fast decent :!:
Get yourself new ones Or crash and hurt yourself, choose the first option i wish i did :shock:0 -
BURN the wd-40 off and then rub on 500 grit works for me and clean the rotors with disc cleaner.0
