Just getting round to mending my summer crop of punctures   ...in time for thorny season have noticeed that have a lot of small (1/8 ") snakebites on soem of teh 16 tubes needing mending...am wondering :?: :?: what success in mending these? will teh patches hold or should I bin teh tubes and just stick to teh thorn punctures??

a patch that generously covers the hole will work, just make sure you clean the tube well and use the glue properly. If they are crappy 3 pound tubes then it might not be worth it, but if they are big fatties or expensive ones then you should.<hr noshade size="1">You bend it, you mend it.0

I thought snakebite punctures were caused by having too little tyre pressure and the rim slamming down and nicking the inner tube on both sides. If you have 16 punctures, i'd definitely suggesting running a higher PSI to save your inner tubes and your rims!0

you could try getting a new innertube and cutting that one in half and cutting round the valve and then rap the old one around the new one and them it is double as thick, worked for me until i got self sealing tubes0

Not all snakebites though..lots of thorns around here (mid Wales) from teh hedge cuttings; but maybe will up pressures a bit to 45 from 40 on 2.1 s (I`m 12 stone)???0

invest in higher quality inner tubes (slime filled/thornproof) and new tyres if they're wearing low.
check the rim tape on the inside is sitting right, everything feels as it should do.
check the inside of the tyre for any debris or thorns still remaining in there.0 -
i run halo's on my tiogas and have hadnt got any puntures (touch wood) ive rimmed it many times on rocks and taken chunks outa my rims, but ride home take the tyre nd innertube off and use a file to smooth the chunk, nd ride again!0
