rear shock protector for 06 trance 3

hi all
have a new 06 trance 3. anyone made up or got a good alternative to the giants own rear shock protector. the giant one is pricey as its carbon etc.
shock is prone to muck and stones as it pushes through a hole in the frame.
so some protection is a given.
any ideas.
