Junior Tour of Wales
This weekend is the RIS Junior Tour of Wales, always produces some good racing.

STAGE 1 – Time Trial. 6 miles (10km)
Start: Blaenavon Road. 300m from roundabout
Course : Brynmawr-Blaenavon Road-Tumble @ 1 minute Intervals.
Saturday August 25th 2.45pm
STAGE 2 – Road Race. 50 miles.
Course: Brynmawr -A465-Gilwern-Crickhowell-Talybont-Brecon-Talgarth- Llangorse –Talybont – Llangynidr – Mountain –
Finish 1km after summit at 5.15pm.
Sunday August 26th – 10.30 am
Stage 3 – Circuit Race, Bryn Bach Park 24 miles.
Sunday August 26th – 3:30 pm
Stage 4 – Road Race. 45 miles.
Course: Bryn Bach Park, A465 direction of Merthyr - A470 direction Cardiff - Nelson - Fochriw - Merthyr Common - A465 - Cwm Bargoed (x 2 circuits)
Finish: Prince of Wales Inn, Princetown, Tredegar.
Monday August 27th – 10.30am
STAGE 5– Road Race. 62 miles( 100km)
Course – Nantyglo– A465W – Dowlais – Hirwaun – Storey Arms –Brecon – A40 – Abergavenny – Llanfoist
Finish: Tumble (Keepers) Mountain, Blaenavon approx. 1.15

Stage 1 Time Trial won by Peter Kennaugh to take the yellow jersey.
Stage 2 won by Peter Kennaugh, arriving at the summit of Llangynidr mountain a good twenty seconds in front of the next rider. The bunch were together on the run into Llangynidr and blew apart on the final 4k at 8%
Stage 3 won by Luke Rowe after being away in a two man break for the entire stage.0
