I'm just back from holiday where the owner of the house we stayed in lent me his old bike. After washing it down, lubing it and sorting out the tyres it revealed itself to be a Claude Butler Magestic with Reynolds 531 tube frame made by Thornton/Brompton? Anyway I was then able to use it to collect the morn bread order and it turn out to be a real treat. Very efficient, direct and balanced. Other than indexed gears and better brakes it was competitive with a modern bike. Does any one know anything more about this model? Also what range of value could be placed on it?
