Alternative rear shock for Stumpjumper FSR '06

Hi all,
I was out last weekend at the bike park in Semmering, Austria and I've really come to the conclusion I need a couple of extra bits for my stumpy.
Firstly, and most easily is a larger front rotor and a bigger rear one too.
The second item is a little tricky and this is where I need some collective help. I really would like to change the rear shock. I've got a standard Fox Triad shock which is ok, but not great. It doesn't give me enough feel or travel and I was hoping for something a little more robust.
I've been recommended the Rockshox Pearl as an alternative, or perhaps the Fox Float RC3. In all honesty, I haven't a clue so perhaps somebody could help me out with some tech talk and what I should and shouldn't be looking for.
I've also been told I can buy a third party hollowtec rear suspension link that will increase the travel of the bike without affecting the balance so that sounds quite interesting too. Again, i've no idea whether this is the route I should take, but any input would be great.
Finally, I live in Austria (English expat out here), so I find it hard to talk to the guys at the bike shops. So this is why I'm mainly posting here.
Cheers all for your help!

I'd love to, but unfortunately it's not really in the budget. I've been told I could get €250 for my Triad shock and a Pearl and Float are both €300 so it's only a €50 upgrade. The rotors are another €75 so €125 is not bad considering.
I'm going to save my pennies for a year or so and maybe try and get my hands on a Nomad frame and build up from there. I tried one from from Mountain Trax in Wokingham when I was home last Christmas and took it out to Swinley Forest. I found it to be stunning. I also tried the Blur LT, but the Nomad just felt really great to ride and handle. Unfortunately it's £1500 just for the frame which was the cost of my Stumpy, so it'll have to wait!
So back to the shock for the Stumpy....does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers,

Ive got the Fox Float RPL on my Trek and it does an excellent job, I never use the lockout feature on it though as Pro Pedal works perfect for all conditions. If you can afford it the Fox Float RP23 would be the top choice shock to go for.___________________________________________________________

What's the main differences between the Rockshox Pearl and Fox Float RP23?
I'm not really interested in lockout since I never use it, but I find that's a problem with my current Triad. The switch always flicks onto lockout which can be really annoying.2006 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp
