The other thread was just on the way in, which is normally done on my own.
On the way back, i normally cycle with a couple of chaps and thought since i had the camera, it would be good to try and get a few shots that i had been thinking about for a while... some turned out OK :
Top of the hill, dig the camera out from the bag:
Start setting off down the hill:
Holding the camera in one hand and steering with the other at 35mph is a little daunting:
2/3 the way down we pass a wee reservoir and just after that is my favourite bit where the valley is nice and steep sided with a real natural wood ( i.e. not just pine trees ) in the ravine:
A few mug shots ... a little blurry considering i was just holding the camera in their direction and pressing the button:
Lastly, just before we entered the town:
Overall, quite pleased with them. A little practice and i think you could get good shots like this.
Camera was a Canon 30D set to Tv, shutter speed 1/100 and ISO200

Your commute looks nicer than most of my holidays.
I'm not jealous, chances are it'll be worse than mine in the winter. Probably rains more too.0 -

I was wondering that, do seem to have that here on the east coast, better take tomorrow off and head west.
fisha has your ever considered a helmet cam, that ride deserves it....**************
Best advice I ever got was "better get a bike then"

i dont have a helmet cam, but am looking at the possibility of strapping an old medium sized DV camera to the bike frame and filming the descent . . . should be interesting to watch that . . . especially on a couple of corners.
will be a while yet for that to happen.0 -
great photos, but where are all the white vans parked on a corner or the yong kids cooling you down with a can of coke while they drive past blasting the horn as a greeting.0
