Stiff Revox

Hope someone may be able to help me here.
I have a manitou revox shock with a 500lb spring fitted. My mate has a fox with a 500 lb spring. Now his shock feels much smoother that mine even with the same amount of air in the chambers.
Is this the norm or would it be worth sending my shock off for inspection/ service?
