Delgado on doping
Just read on cyclingnews.com that former TDF winner Pedro Delgado thinks the Grand Tour organisers shouldn't be so obsessed with weeding out the dopers. As he puts it:
"Nobody says that it is not necessary to fight against doping, but I do not believe it is the high-priority thing in this sport. Doping must be fought without any publicity, because all of that hurts sponsorships."
As far as I'm concerned, Delgado is way off beam, but you may have a different point of view. Any comments?

As a rider who managed to avoid ,on a technicality, becoming only the second maillot jaune to be thrown off the Tour for failing a drugs test, I reckon Perico should know.
I suggest you find his interview with, I think,Velonews from last year. As the conversation moves to doping, watch how it goes from an interview to a diatribe.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
I'll check out the article in Velonews.
Yes, I thought his somewhat chequered past might have influenced his opinion on the current attempts to clean up the sport.
If he doesn't think that doping is a high-priority issue for cycling, I'd love to know what he thinks is important. Maybe his main concern is that, considering the current climate. someone might ask him for his yellow jersey back.0 -
He's still singing the same tune the pack was singing a few years back after the Festina doping scandal.
Times have changed Perico - move on. Lots of guys in the peleton will be struggling for work because of people like him thinking that doping is no big thing.0
