As above really.
I want to sell one of my bikes which is shod with Mich Pro 2 light blue side walled tyres.
Is there anything I can use to clean the oil and tar marks off the side walls that will not compromise the integrity of the tyre.

  • When I was forced to use a newly tarred road the bike was plastered with tar and chippings. Used a cloth soaked in parafin followed quickly by lots of hot soapy water. No ill effects noticed. WD40 will also remove tar but again I would give a thorough wash straight away.

Cheers Phil .I had considered using parafin but was a bit concerned it would damage the tyres .
    Thanks for the advice

Tar remover - you can get it in Halfords and any other car shops. You only need a tiny amount and again just wash it off ASAP afterwards.
