I`ve got some Bontager Hard case 28mm road tyres & was asked at work how many miles they would do before they were worn out, I just hadn`t a clue! So what sort of miles can I expect from a road tyre?

Cheers

They normally say 3000 miles, but I managed to get over 6000 miles out of mine without any problems.

3000 miles? Great!! Thats 10 years worth for me  or 88 times to work & back :D

How do you know if they`re worn out, do they have a wear indicator somewhere down in the rubber?

They tyres normally have two tiny holes or dents on the top of the tyre, when they dissapear then it's time to change them. If there are no markers at all then you just have use your own judgement. My last tyres had no markers, so I just had to use my own judgement, and I judged that after having done already 6000 miles, maybe it might be a good time to change them
  • Bonty hardcase anywhere from 3500 miles to over 5000 They really are the best bulletproof tyre around
