I need a very cheap frame
Hi,
I reckon that one way to learn about bike mechnaics is to have a 'sandbox' bike that I can experiment with but which my inevitable mistakes won't stop me from riding. In oher words, i don't want to experiment on my existing bikes in case I break them.
Question is: where can I get an ultra-cheap road frame? Ebay doesn't seem to have what I need. What's the cheapest new frame a fellow can buy, and from where? Does anyone in the NW have a road frame rotting away that I can buy?
Cheers,
Andy

Why not contact someone like ribble and see if they have any slightly damaged frames that they otherwise might not sell, got to be worth a try!0

Damned good idea thanks I'll do that! I might try a GOOD bike shop first, like Paul Hewitt's though.0

freecycle can be a good source of old bikes for free http://uk.freecycle.org/
I've had a couple from my local network, which I've practiced my bike mechanics on and then freecycled the bikes to someone else.0 -
if yo're not too bothered about age or condition you could ask at your local dump, it's amazing what some people throw away, Alan0
