Wheel security suggestions

I've recently turned my old Marin IFT into an urban utlity bike. Before I leave it locked up outside the pub, I wanted to make sure my wheels (and saddle for that matter) will still be there when I get back.

I've been looking at the Pitlock system, which looks promising (and expensive). I also see that Trans X do a much cheaper version. Has anyone had experience of either of these security skewer systems? Are there others I should be looking at?

Thanks

Rusty

I've fitted the Trans X skewers fitted to my commuter and touch wood my wheels are still there. The skewers are for a generic Allen key, I believe the dearer systems will have unique keys

Trans x prevents idle fiddling but its easy to file a hex to fit (for my daughters bike who lost her 'key' :x )
Anythings better than Q release tho'!
  • Thanks for the responses. I might go for the Trans X (as I've read an article that the Pitlock system isn't totally secure) and use the left over money for a second lock.

    Thanks
