I have the following set route which is flattish (I have a few others on there as well) until Thursday my most recent PB recorded was 1hr 6mins which I have to admit was not solo (1 other who has done it in 54mins 48sec when not going at my pace)

On Thursday I gave my self a surprise (all that "hilly" stuff and MTB seems to be paying off) by doing it in 1hr 4mins and 46 (The actual route is slightly longer but I have used a generic point in Wormit for all routes to avoid publishing my address).

I did not for one minute think I could get another 0.9kmh onto that time by doing it in 1hr 2mins and 6.

Dead chuffed. :D
Do Nellyphants count?

Commuter: FCN 9
Cheapo Roadie: FCN 5

+1 when I don't get round to shaving for x days

    Well done that man :D
I like PBs , I go for them a couple of times a year. One route is 21 miles around Coxwold and Byland Abby and that is now down to 1 hour 6, the other is straight out from my house in Thirsk and 7 miles UP through Felixkirk, Boltby and then to the top of Snec Yat. I knocked 2 minutes of my time this year for a pb of 33 min 20. I then read Max Heartbeat in last months mag and laughed at them for trying the NYorks hills on double chainsets, respect ! they made it so I went out and rode Boltby on the middle ring , 15 all ,

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail
Hills are just a matter of pace
  • Ah, I've not been at this long at all, and just been riding a little 11.8km loop which has a bit of everything, from my house and back, and of course it's easy to improve, and times have been dropping 15-30 seconds a try.

I've been expecting that to level off, and each time I get a nice improvement I start thinking I'll have got to the time that will be hard to beat next time.... but then the last 3 rides went crazy at 27m15... 26m26... 24m15...

Ah man.... I'm just making my life harder and harder!!
Of course, that last time was a flat calm day, but still......
