Flak Jackets are meant to be very good, Im picking myself up some XTR cables soon as they are very good too.

It's funny you know, no matter what you say about whatever component or piece of equipment there's always some opposite view, which in all honesty I really don't mind, just so long as it's justified, then one can make their own judgment based on other peoples experiences...

For instance when I replaced the standard cables on my bike for NOKON Cables (having been recommended them by some geezer I trusted) someone on the forum goes, "NOKON are crap - go for Flak Jackets - they ROCK" - or words to that effect, similarly there was no explanation as to how or why - just unjustified opinion... he may as well have said "they're crap because they ARE So ner!" - anyway, I heard a lot of praise since for the Flak Jackets.

So what about the NOKON cables then? well - I'm actually quite happy with them, they were a pain in the arse to fit and extremely fiddly (not to mention costly) and I struggle with them all the time when I try to sort my indexing out, which is why I'm considering changing them - I just want something a little simpler, that still looks good and performs well.

So come on then... why are FLAK JACKETS poo?

I had one set on my XTC and one on my anthem. Both started off reasonably smooth but within a month of riding both become clogged with mud.

I have since returned to the reasonably cheap 'Clarks Premium' cables and have had a no problems. Thats just my opinion but i won't be buying the flak jackets again.
