super light wheels

I am going to build some super light wheels (I don't want off the shelf wheels) and was going to use stans olympic ztr rims but can't decide what spokes or hubs to use. I only ride xc with no jumps or drops and I am not very heavy so strength isn't an issue. Any advice on what hub and spoke set to use would be well taken. Thanks, Crashtestdummy

Tune hubs are about as light as they come, see poshbikes.com. Sapim X-ray spokes would be a good choice, or aerolight.0

Depends on budget but i'd say DT Swiss 240s hubs and Aerolite spokes. The Sapim CX ray spokes would also be an idea but i've never tried them so i couldnt recommend.
Revolution spokes would save a few grams over the aerolite0 -
i've jst jad a set of wheels built, dt 240 hubs and 4.2d rims with super comp spokes, they are pretty light no idea what they actually weigh but they aren't so fly they flex all over the place but i dont think i'd want anything lighter.0

If you have the cash check out these. (Or get ideas about components from them)

hope hubs and dt swiss spokes are good0

does anyone do carbon spokes0

I think you can get them, and certainly there are composite spokes, but as a set of 32 Dt revs weigh about 130g, I wouldnt bother.0

Have a look at Marwi Titanium spokes. Lots of colours, nice and light but also pretty strong.0

And expensive.
Revolution spokes with alloy nipples.0 -
What's lighter, dt revolution, dt aerolite, sapim x-ray or the marwi titaniums?0

The super light wheels that Stan (notubes) builds all use DT Revolution. Your building technique must be good for these light spokes and ZTR rims, plus you need to adhere to the specified 95kg tension limit of the ZTR rims (Olympic and 355). I favour the 355 over the Olympic. If you are using DT240 hubs then choose the centre-lock version, the rear has a better flange geometry and ensures the non drive spokes have adequate tension.
