Brake Drop - need long
Hey guys
i have a halfords apollo bike with tektro brakes on - they do not really clear the hole rim of the wheel (the new wheels are better but not much
firstly how do i measure drop - from where to where
and secondly all the shimano "name" brakes (105 dura ace etc) all seem to be short drop - is there such thing as medium drop, i need about half a centimetre!!!
Many Thanks
dave

Shimano do them, though they're non-series items. http://wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx? ... 5300002552 are 105 standard and http://wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx? ... 5300002553 Ultegra standard.
Drop is measured from the centre of the bolt the brakes attach to to the centre of the brake track on the rim.0 -
Not 'non-serious' - non-series which just means they're not part of any official component group.
But as aracer says, they're Ultegra or 105 quality, which is plenty good.John Stevenson0
