What Bars and Brakes for My new Pompino Frame!

Hi All,

Just got myself an On-One Pompino Frame.

I'm pretty sure I know what components I'm going to hang on it except for the bars and brakes.

The Bars: I was going to go for On-Ones own 'Midge' bars which look a little strange but are apparently very nice. I'm just not sure how often i'll use the drops. I think a set of Aero base bars like Profile's Airwing. But then what brakes and levers to use?

I have never used this type of bar before. Can you use normal road levers on it? Where is the best place to hang the levers? would you put them on the upright bits or on the 'flat' sections before the uprights? Can you put MTB style levers on an aero base bar either side of the bulge at the top? Do you HAVE to use those weird aero levers that plug into the ends of the bar?

I'm reluctant to use cantilvers so i think I have to use either full Vs with a road lever that can pull enough cable for Vs (is there such a thing?) or Mini Vs with a tektro lever designed for the job? Or what about MTB levers either side of the bulge? (unlikely I expect?)

Sorry for the ramble and all the questions, but i would really appreciate any advice from those that have similar dilemas!

Cheers
