Brake dropper

I expect a few others on here ride a bike with a frame originally designed for 27" wheels but now fitted with 700C. The extra drop for the brakes means using a 'long drop' mechanism like the Alhonga. I have done this but must admit that the braking is not as good as from my 'standard road' drop bike at about 49mm.
Clearly the mechanics of a long drop suggest they are less efficient than the short drop units. So... has anyone ever made a bolt on unit that would allow the complete brake unit to be lowered on the frame such that a normal 49mm drop unit can be used? I can see it might not be too difficult at the rear but the fork crown may be more of a challenge.
Just pondering ...

Yes there are things you can buy that will lower the calliper down slightly. I have only seen this for older style callipers though.

Thanks Garybee ... I had a quick look on SJSC, Ribble, Settle but did not find any. Any idea what they are called?
