Help for a real novice - assembly!!

Hello, I am struggling on the last leg of assembling my Mongoose Tyax Elite which I received today. Can anyone tell me how I go about tightening the handlebar stem/front forks (so that the bike steers!!).... Can't figure it out.. :oops:

No problem.
I you look at the 'rear' of the stem (that clamps around the steerer tube/forks you will see two hex bolts (well there are generally two)
When you tighten these up (and make sure they are as tight as you can manually tighten) they 'clamp' the stem to the steerer tube providing you with reliable steering.
I am assuming that you have been provided with the hex wrench (aka Alan key)

Headset will need adjusting too. Alas, the probs of buying online! I would buy a good maintenance book, ot get it set up by a pro.0
