Should i be fitting 'v' brakes or canti's to my Pompino. It's going to be used on the roads so I want some stopping power. I've got v's on my mtb but would have to use D-Compe levers with the v-brakes on the drops whereas canti's always seem a bit weak and a faff to set up (or that might be me being cack-handed). Would I be better using a booster plate for the canti's and finally any preference for Shimano/Avid/Tektro or some boutique brakes like Paul Components.

I'm using dia compe (I think :? ) levers with avid v's on my pomp. I think that the V's look a lot sleeker than canti's, gotta look good 8) Though I don't think either of them performs better than the other if there both set up well and If your riding on the road then either will be far better then dual pivot brakes.Cycling - The pastime of spending large sums of money you don't really have on something you don't really need.0
