I am thinking of upgrading from my Fausto Coppi Torino to a bike in the region of £1500 , 2 bikes have caught my eye - the Specialized Tarmac '07 and the Wilier Mortirolo , then whilst idly surfing the net , I came across a Daccordi Vero ( on www.expedia.co.uk )which is all carbon with campag wheels / chainset etc and is reduced from almost £3k down to £1500 !! Does anyone have any experiences with Daccordi bikes or have any recommendations apart from the bikes I mentioned ?
I'm 5 '8" , 11 stones , and "reasonably" fit , although I don't get out on 2 wheels as much as I'd like to due to 12 hr shifts and family committments :(:cry: !!
Many thanks for all constructive comments !!

    You will find fans of the Wilier Mortirolo on here, Jash Burnham for one I believe, and also the Tarmac which i would plump for over the Spesh Roubaix for example.

    Have no experience of the Daccordi sorry. You sure that url is the right one btw? Great to book your holiday but not sure about bikes on there lol.

    I think you mean www.xpedia.co.uk

    Daccordi are an Italian manufacturer who have a good reputation for building decent bikes. A friend of mine has an aluminium frame of theirs and he loves that bike. He's owned, and ridden, a lot of different bikes too.

    The one you've mentioned is this one I think;

    It's a nice looking bike but I can't believe it ever cost £3000. £1500 would seem to be a fairer price for it.

    hmm, have to agree with andyp about the italian bike. no wonder they found it difficult to shift at 3K. it's only a bargain now becasue of the original asking price. looks to be a nice bike though but don't go sand-bagging yourself.

    centaur and ventos for £3k? WTF!!!???

    looks good for £1500 though.

    don't get the Tarmac ... please. ok, do, but the other two have heaps more brand appeal and style IMO.

    i don't see the point in getting the Tarmac because you're basically paying a premium for a brand and yet that brand has no appeal ... better to either go down the low cost ribble/planet x route or else go for something with cache ... just not specialized or trek.

    there you go, my snobbery is out in the open now.
