front mech trimming

hi ive just built up a bike with 105 sti and front mech but cant get the trim to work it clicks but doesnt move on the way down (it does on my 9spd tiagra set up but i didnt set those up lol) any tips??

    Does the cable go slack when you change down ? Does it move at all ?

    no it just clicks on the changer but nothing on the mech it does the up and down the rings sound but not the trim function downwards . i didnt want to start really fiddling til i had some input otherwise no doubt nothing would then work lol cheers
