Stuck forks

Just got a new bike and want to fix up the old one for my missus to use. The biggest problem I've got are the suspension forks are locked.
They are SR XCR from about 2003. I've manged to get the springs out but still nothing is moving. Quite a bit of water came out of one leg when I got everything opened up, I'm guessing this is not a good sign!
Anyone know how I can free the forks or should I bin then and buy somehing cheap on ebay? The bike will probably not be used more than 10 times a year!
Cheers for any help!

True, but a reliable fork will cost about £90 (Rockshox Tora) & it will ride better than a £50 fork as it has damping.
You could find a Tora on ebay, you need to be aware of the steerer tube length when buying 2nd hand, measure the old forks steerer tube & don't buy a shorter tube or you will have trouble.0 -
Got it apart - hit it harder!0
