2005 Specialized Stumpjumper s-works?

I've been offered a 2005 Specialized Stumpjumper S-works frame for £300.
I know it's in good condition but are they any good? And is it worth the money?
I ride cross country mainly and a bit of mountain. I have always ridden a hardtail and loved it. Recently though I have found myself looking at softtails for a bit of comfort. (maybe I'm getting old!).
Hence this frame for sale. Can someone tell me what it's like especially for bobbing up and down, coz thats my main concern.
Also in with the deal are some Fox Talas 120mm forks for £150. They are 2 years old and again in good condition. This set up is now £450 and a far cry from my hardtail. But I'm interested.
Maybe I should save my money and buy something better?
Can anyone help??
Cheers.

Is that an fsr frame? Sounds like a bargain - if you don't want it let me know because I'd love it!0

I don't know. I'll ask him.
This is all new to me!!

Certainly I can offer my opinion, just check out the sig!
I love mine to bits. I went through a phase of finding the seat post height adjustment issue rather annoying but I've learnt to ride around it. For the riding you do, which is essentially the same stuff as I would do, its amazing; a speed demon! Climbs amazingly well and descends with confidence.
I'd see if you can get a test ride, but for £300 I wouldn't say no.0 -
That all sounds good.
I Have looked on the internet and can't find a lot wrong with it.
keep seeing the rear shock is pro pedal? Do you know how it works? Can you lock it?
Sorry to on about the rear shock but coming from a hardtail I will take all the advice I can get.Deal with it!0 -
The septune shock has seven pro-pedal settings. Basically it offers increasing compression damping which stops it bobbing under pedalling forces. It can't be locked out but you wont find you need to on the maximum setting anyway. You can turn it off so you get lovely plush suspension movement too.0

This all sounds good to me.
I think I'd better empty the piggy bank!
From what I've heard I think it's just what I'm looking for.
Cheers for your help!

The bike was sold as a frame only I believe. I use Fox Floats on mine and they work a treat0
