i'm in the process of assembling a second set of wheels for commuting, and was wondering what the issues will be with swapping wheels?? i'm aiming to have two sets of wheels and discs set up so that they both fit the caliper without adjustment...
will i have trouble having to bed the pads in each time I change the wheels? or will they be ok?
any other issues i can expect?
would it be easier to get a second bike dedicated to commuting and keep my mountain bike for off-road?
any advice gratefully received... Thanks

If you get hubs from a different manufacturer, you'll be looking at readjusting the caliper and rear mech every time you swap the wheels.

As long as both hubs are from the same manufactuer, you should be able to do a straight swap. No need for extra bedding in of rotors besides the first time you use them.

damn. forgot about the rear mech/cassette issue... hubs are shimano and mavic, so sounds like i've set myself up for a right nightmare...

There is a little gadget that bolts in between your disc rotor and the hub to negate the need for any adjustment when swapping over wheelsets. You fit as many as you need. I can't for the life of me remember who makes it though. Have a google!

If you are using post mount calipers then adlingment only takes a minute and isn't that much of a hassle.
