Bigger Rotors...?

hi all.
upgrading my forks to some rock shox toras soon, and am buying a new adaptor for the caliper mount. have been wondering if fitting a bigger disc (180mm) to the front would make much difference to the stopping power or not. bearing in mind i have tektro mechanical disc brakes, with 160mm rotors.
is it worth it? any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Yes, will give a little more power, not a bad idea with mech discs.
